STORY REPAIR SERVICES

A little bit about me: I’m good at this. I’ve worked with over 200 clients from amateur to industry. I will make you excited about your project again.

Pricing structure: Consultations start at $150 USD for a 90-minute session. Fees vary by prep time. If there’s just a little prep, I won’t charge additional. But it’s on a case-by-case basis. I do my invoicing via Square. You won’t have to download or sign up for anything.

Wondering if I’m a good fit for you? I might not be. It’s entirely possible. To get the most swag for your bag, keep reading.

What I’m really good at: Macro story structure, character arcs, working within & respecting another person’s vision, re-energizing stale projects, working across mediums.

What I’m okay at: Line edits, prose, tone, pacing, genre awareness, random idea generation.

What you should absolutely never hire me for: Three point contest, exorcism, getaway driver.

What I straight-up won’t do: read your whole book ahhh too much too much.

What you need to do: Choose a meeting slot. Send me any reading/prep materials at least 48 hours before we chat. A Google meeting will be automatically generated and the link will be sent to you. That is where our meeting will be.

What I will do: I will contact you before our meeting to *checks notes* build rapport. I will arrive at our meeting prepped & ready to start exploring options. If I think that I legitimately don’t have anything to contribute to your project, I will let you know. This has happened before. I would rather not waste your time and money if I feel something exceeds my limits. Which is all to say you’re in good hands :)

“What prep materials should I send?” I don’t know. I don’t know anything about your project. I don’t know what I don’t know. Your job is to send me what you think I need to know in order to identify problems. It’s a judgement call on your part. Some clients send me full drafts and pitch decks, others have me go in completely blind. Often, creating a summary document is a great exercise for the writer as well. I would recommend this.
